Daydream Believer

Dreams are a funny thing.  I don’t mean “dreams” as in what you experience in your sleep, I mean dreams as in goals, what you want to do with your life.  As children we are taught to reach for the stars, dream big, and believe that anything is possible.  Yet, as we hit our teenage years, our dreams are suppressed by reality, by the opinions of others. Why are we then taught that we can’t have dreams anymore, that we have to “grow up?” I feel it’s so wrong to take someone’s dreams away, to judge their dreams, to tell them they can’t do it. Dreaming is fun; it shows you have an inward confidence and belief in yourself.  I think, in a way, dreams are sacred. I often don’t tell people my dreams for this reason.  It’s sad that it has to be that way though. Therefore, if you have a dream that someone has told you is silly, dream it even harder.  Believe in it even harder. Make your dream the reality, don’t let “reality” take away your dream.  Let your dream overcome you and live it everyday.
